About Us
Flytes of Fancy is dedicated to the lighthearted.
Our company is the brainchild of a mother and daughter team Liz Fye and Maryn Wynne. Liz designs the costumes and graphic materials, while Maryn supervises the manufacturing and coordinates the business. All of our costumes are made in the USA by artisans, some of whom have been with us since we began in 1989.
We owe it all to Coco.
Liz says, "The inspiration for creating pet costumes began when I enrolled my chocolate Pomeranian, Coco, in dog obedience classes. There I met other people who, like me, considered their dogs to be indispensable family members. At the obedience class Christmas party, one of the dogs was wearing a flashing collar that came from a mail order catalog. It was my first introduction to the pet gift and supply catalog industry."
Why not make costumes for pets?
We had already talked about making children's costumes, but making costumes for pets sounded like even more fun. We could make a pilot helmet for dogs that like to hang their head out of car windows, or devil horns for naughty dogs, angel wings for nice dogs or a clown hat for...and the rest is Flytes of Fancy history. | | Special |  |
